A framed advertising showcard for the Co-operative Wholesale Society (C.W.S.) depicting a domestic laundry scene. The artwork shows a mother figure at a metal wash tub surrounded by six children, several of whom are shown blowing bubbles with clay pipes. Primary black block lettering at the top with white and blue shadowing reads C . W . S. A depicted wall-mounted calendar within the illustration is printed with the text PROVIDENT & INDUSTRIAL CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD above a blue oval containing the year 1901. The interior background includes kitchen items including a teapot and cup, with potted plants positioned by a window. The lithograph is housed in a stained wooden frame fitted with three brass mounting brackets.
18 3/4 inches by 26 1/2 inches.

Condition report:

The lithograph shows general toning and colour fading across the surface. Staining and foxing are visible, particularly in the upper corners and along the lower edge of the print (photo 1). The wooden frame shows minor surface scuffs and wear consistent with age (photo 7). The brown paper backing on the reverse is brittle with several tears (photo 6).
