A framed lithographed advertising showcard for Molassine Dog Foods featuring a central circular vignette of a Jack Russell Terrier. The upper text reads ‘A Good Opening For’ in a yellow script font with black shadowing, while the lower text states ‘MOLASSINE DOG FOODS’ in yellow and orange block lettering with black borders. The print is housed in a fluted dark oak frame fitted with two metal mounting brackets to the sides. The bottom margin of the print bears a printed mark reading ‘… BROWNE & CO LITHOS NOTTINGHAM’ (photo 3), with the initial characters partially obscured by the frame rebate.

Visible print area measures 15.5 inches by 20.5 inches.
Overall frame measures 17.5 inches by 22.5 inches.

Condition report:

The printed surface shows visible foxing and brown staining, particularly noticeable in the background areas and around the edges (photo 1). There is surface creasing and evidence of paper warping (photo 2). There are several areas of card loss or deep scratching, for example the top right and bottom left corners and across the wording \'FOODS\'.
