A rectangular enamel advertising sign for Berry’s Diamond Boot Polishes featuring a white ground with black and red lettering. The top section bears the brand name Berry’s in black serif font, flanked by red diamond devices. Centrally, a large red diamond contains a circular graphic for Berry’s Diamond Box-Calf & Glace Kid Waterproof Polish, including Trade Mark wording. The lower section features the word Diamond in red block capitals between quotation marks, above Boot Polishes in black. A maker’s mark to the bottom right edge is printed in white and reads MEL CO LTD BIRM. The reverse shows a heavily oxidised rusted surface.

Condition report:

The sign is in generally good condition with a number of areas of enamel loss but retains strong vibrant colouring throughout. There are several chips to the enamel in the central white field and top edge, exposing the dark metal beneath (photo 2).
