A rectangular illuminated advertising sign for Singer, featuring an opaque white face panel with applied raised deep red block lettering edged in a gold-tone outline. The sign is mounted within a gold-tone speckled metal light box casing fitted with electrical wiring and a plug to the reverse. A paper label with angled top corners is affixed to the metal casing, printed with a yellow banner reading VARICOL LTD. above a light blue panel reading 39 HOLLIS ROAD COVENTRY TELEPHONE: 53700. Working order is untested. Measuring 36 inches in length and 13 inches in height.


Condition report:

The white face panel shows light surface scuffing and small marks across the front (photos 1 and 4). The applied red block lettering has edge rubbing, with a notable chip and loss to the outer right edge of the letter R (photos 1 and 4). The metal light box casing shows surface rust, oxidation, and flaking paint across the top, sides, and reverse (photos 2 and 3). The manufacturer paper label is chipped and worn along the lower edge (photo 3). The wiring and plug are aged and untested.
