An assortment of seven lithographed metal motorsport event plaques, primarily relating to the Coppa Monza and Targa Florio rallies. The collection includes two red hexagonal plaques for the VIII Coppa Monza, featuring the Goodyear and Fina logos with race numbers 38 and 40, and a similar white plaque for the VII Coppa Monza bearing race number 18. Three yellow arched plaques for the IX and X Coppa Monza display the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) shield and the C.M.A.E. (Club Milanese Automotoveicoli d’Epoca) emblem, associated with Quattroruote and the Milanese historic vehicle club, with race numbers 4, 10, and 60. A white rectangular plaque with a red arched border is for the Targa Florio Storica, dated 10-13 Maggio 1973, associated with the Automobile Club Palermo and the Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo. The plaques are constructed from thin sheet metal with printed graphics and pre-drilled mounting holes. The reverse sides of the yellow plaques show a plain, unfinished metal surface.
Condition report:
All plaques exhibit signs of age and previous use. Significant surface scratches and pitting are visible across all items, with notable oxidization and surface corrosion to the metal, particularly on the yellow arched plaques (photo 3). Fading is present on the printed graphics, most evident on the yellow backgrounds. Dirt accumulation and staining are visible throughout the collection. The mounting holes show wear and minor deformation from previous attachment (photo 1). The metal shows minor warping and bends at the corners and edges (photo 4).
