A rectangular metal warning sign featuring an embossed design of two children playing with a ball above a slanted rectangular bar. The white ground bears the word CHILDREN embossed in block capitals across the lower section. The figures and lettering are highlighted in black paint. The reverse side shows remnants of dark green paint around the perimeter. The sign measures approximately 12 inches in width by 18 inches in height.


Condition report:

The sign exhibits extensive paint loss and surface oxidation across the front, with significant chipping and rusting to the raised embossed elements and edges (photo 1). The white ground shows surface dirt and staining throughout (photo 2). The reverse is heavily weathered with widespread surface rust and loss of the original green finish (photo 6).
