A National Benzole Mixture petrol pump globe of spherical form. The white glass body is decorated to the front and reverse with fired-on graphics featuring the Mercury head logo in profile within a circular orange border. The black lettering reads NATIONAL BENZOLE MIXTURE, with a secondary blue and white adhesive decal for PREMIUM applied over the lower portion of the design. The base of the graphic is printed with the registered trade mark number 393120. The upper slope of the globe bears the printed manufacturer mark WEBB’S CRYSTAL GLASS CO LTD LONDON. Around the exterior of the base collar is a black printed ownership stencil reading PROPERTY OF THE NATIONAL BENZOLE CO LTD, alongside a stamped registration number REGD NO 861335. The globe is currently presented on a modern illuminated red plastic display stand.


Condition report:

The enamel graphics remain vibrant with minimal wear. There are several visible chips to the glass base collar, with missing sections of glass around the circumference of the mounting rim (photos 7, 8, 11, and 12). The main body of the glass shows light surface scratches and scuffing. Heavy dirt accumulation and rust-coloured staining are present around the damaged neck area (photo 12).
