Lot 502: Reproduction Crown Form Petrol Pump Globe

A reproduction petrol pump globe molded in the form of a crown. The body is decorated with detailed relief scrollwork, fleur-de-lis motifs, and beaded bands. The globe is of one-piece construction with prominent vertical mold seams visible from the pressing process. The base features a circular fitter rim for attachment to a lamp gallery. A series of molded characters are present on the flat surface of the fitter rim, but these are not legible as a specific maker or brand name (photo 5).
Condition report:
There is a notable chip to the interior edge of the fitter rim (photo 5). The base flange shows accumulated surface grime and reddish-brown staining (photo 5). The main decorative body of the globe appears in good condition with no visible cracks or significant chips to the relief detail (photos 1-4).
