A double-sided circular enamel advertising sign featuring a cream ground. The central design displays the brand name Pratts in red serif script with a long underline, set above the wording MOTOR OIL in bold blue block capitals. The lower section includes the text SOLD ONLY SEALED in red block lettering. The entire composition is framed by a distinctive blue cog-pattern border. The sign is marked at the bottom centre of the cream field with the printed code B. 9/30, indicating a production date of September 1930.

Diameter: 25 inches.

Condition report:

The sign exhibits significant areas of enamel loss and heavy oxidation, most notably a large irregular patch affecting the M and O of MOTOR on one side (photo 3 and 5). There is further enamel loss and corrosion to the edges, particularly around the blue cog border (photo 2) and the upper mounting holes (photo 4). The cream field shows extensive surface crazing and fine hairline cracking throughout the glaze (photo 6).
