A large scale highly desirable enamel advertising sign for Hercules Cycles featuring a vibrant yellow ground. The central graphic depicts the mythological figure Hercules lifting a black gentleman’s roadster-style bicycle overhead, draped in a lion skin and holding a club, all set against a white and grey cloud vignette. The top edge features bold black sans-serif lettering reading QUALITY & STRENGTH, with stylized serif lettering at the bottom reading Hercules CYCLES. A small printed maker’s mark is visible in the lower right corner reading JORDAN BILSTON.

Condition report:

The sign exhibits very good shiny enamel and the colours remain bright. The main image is in very good un-damaged condition with the various losses to the enamel being in less important areas of the sign, notably along the top and in the lower part where the words Hercules Cycles is positioned. A few scuff marks and staining as can be seen in the various images.
