A lithographed metal advertising tray for The Coca-Cola Company. The rectangular tray features a classic illustration of a smiling woman in a blue hat holding a contour glass bottle of Coca-Cola, set against a cream-coloured ground. The central subject is flanked by seasonal vignettes depicting various activities including baseball, fishing, a rodeo, football, and a jack-o’-lantern. The upper border features the white Coca-Cola script logo on a red ground with the wording DRINK Coca-Cola and subtext reading REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. Side banners include the text boxes Have a Coke and Thirst knows no season, and a folder on the table is marked MENU. The lower rim displays an inverted DRINK Coca-Cola script logo. Condition report:
The tray exhibits moderate surface wear consistent with age and use. There is significant paint loss, flaking, and active surface oxidation along the lower interior rim and bottom border (photo 1). The illustrated field shows scattered spots of surface pitting and oxidation, notably across the subject\'s face and background (photo 1). The rolled outer rim displays edge wear and paint chipping throughout (photo 1). The reverse shows perimeter scuffing, rim wear, and light scratches to the grey paint (photo 2).
