A Claymore Scotch Whisky advertising tray featuring a bright yellow ground and deep gold-painted rim. The face displays a central illustration of a crown motif above a black and gold banner reading CLAYMORE. Below, two crossed Scottish basket-hilted broadswords are flanked by an intertwined red and black CB monogram, with the words RARE and OLD to either side. The lower section features SCOTCH WHISKY in shaded serif lettering. The lower inner rim edge bears a small printed white maker’s mark reading REGINALD CORFIELD LTD. LOMBARD ROAD, LONDON, S.W.19. The reverse is finished in a plain black lacquer.

Condition report:

The obverse face shows overall fine surface crazing to the clear lacquer finish throughout the central yellow field. There are minor scuffs, small paint nicks, and surface scratching consistent with age and pub use (photo 1). The gold-painted rim displays light rubbing and minor wear to the raised edges (photo 3). The reverse shows heavy scratching and surface scuffing across the black lacquer from bar-top contact (photo 2). No major structural dents or corrosion are visible.
