A circular glass advertising counter-top paperweight for Fry’s Chocolate. Features an applied printed card insert set against a blue and beige ground, depicting the “Five Boys” portraits with their respective captions: “DESPERATION”, “PACIFICATION”, “EXPECTATION”, “ACCLAMATION”, and “REALISATION”. Lettered above “FRY’S” alongside “MAKERS TO T.M. THE KING & QUEEN” and “MAKERS TO H.M. QUEEN ALEXANDRA”, flanked by “300 GOLD MEDALS & DIPLOMAS”, with bold “CHOCOLATE” lettering across the bottom. Finished with a textured fabric backing. Measures approximately 5.75 inches in diameter.


Condition report:

Extensive discolouration, yellowing, and foxing across the printed insert (photo 1). Noticeable lifting and separation of the printed paper from the glass around the upper and right edges (photo 1). Surface rubbing and light scratching to the glass face. The textured fabric backing shows edge loss, fraying around the perimeter, and a full vertical split running down the centre (photos 2 and 3).
