Estimated price: £150 - £250

A shop counter advertising display figure for Phosferine, depicting the classical figure of Milo of Croton splitting a tree trunk. The muscular male figure is posed in effort atop a rocky outcrop base, finished in a bronze-effect gold paint over a hollow composition plaster body. The base features embossed block lettering to three sides reading PHOSFERINE, with the lower plinth further embossed THE GREATEST OF ALL TONICS. The interior is hollow, showing the natural light-coloured plaster and internal casting texture.

Height: 14.5 inches.

Condition report:

The painted surface shows general light wear, scuffing, and rubbing to the bronze finish throughout, notably to the higher relief points of the muscles and hair (photos 1-4). The base rim and corners exhibit several small flakes, fleabite chips, and losses to the paint and plaster, exposing the white plaster beneath (photos 5-6). There is a small circular casting hole visible in the lower rear drapery (photo 3). The structural form remains intact with no major breaks or repairs evident.
