A large scale reverse painted mirror advertising Wills’s Gold Flake Cigarettes. The mirror field features gold-toned block lettering for Wills’s and Cigarettes, with the central Gold Flake brand name rendered in red with a gold outline. The design is framed by etched foliate and scrollwork decorations to the upper and lower sections. The lower edge of the glass bears a printed maker’s mark reading A. N. H. PEMBERTON L’POOL. The mirror is housed in a simple dark wooden frame with pre-drilled mounting holes.

Width: 13 inches
Height: 94 inches.

Condition report:

Generally in good condition, the glass shows an area of silvering loss, foxing, and oxidation, most prominent across the lower section (photo 6, 7). The wooden frame exhibits general wear including scuffs and scratches, with a notable separation and crack to the bottom-left corner joint (photo 9).
