Whitbread’s brewery advertising print. The central lithographed graphic depicts twelve bottles of beer, including London Stout with purple capsules, India Pale Ale with white capsules, and Oatmeal Stout with red capsules, arranged upon a marble plinth. The background is finished with a wood grain effect. The upper section features the Prince of Wales’s feathers crest with the motto banner reading ‘ICH DIEN’, set beneath the wording ‘BY APPOINTMENT TO H.R.H. PRINCE OF WALES’. The brand name ‘WHITBREAD’S’ is displayed in bold block lettering, with the slogan ‘A DOZEN OF THE BEST.’ across the lower section. Each bottle label bears a horse-head trade mark and is inscribed ‘WHITBREAD & CO. LTD. LONDON ESTD 1742’. Housed in a dark moulded wooden frame with a gilt inner slip.

Condition report:
Even toning and age-related yellowing to the lithographed print (photo 2). Light dust and small debris are trapped between the print and the glass at the lower edge (photo 3). The dark wooden frame shows minor surface nicks, scuffs, and light wear (photo 4). The backing paper is torn and peeling around the edges (photo 6).
