A glass match striker of spherical form featuring a clear central band and frosted upper and lower sections. The piece is decorated with reverse-applied internal lettering in red reading ROSSS ROYAL BELFAST GINGER ALE, accompanied by a green shamrock graphic. The upper frosted surface is textured for striking matches and features a central well. The glass contains visible air bubbles throughout. The base is ground and shows a central rough pontil mark.
8 cm diameter.


Condition report:

The top striking surface is heavily worn with significant scratching and a matte appearance from use (photo 1). The internal red pigment shows some degradation and fading to the lettering (photo 2). A small surface indentation or glass defect is present near the word GINGER (photo 2). The frosted lower section shows surface grime and light staining (photo 4). The base has a small central chip or rough pontil mark (photo 3).
