Lot 111: Bulmer's Cider Advertising Showcard Weather House

A circular Bulmer’s Cider advertising showcard designed as a weather house, constructed from printed cardstock to resemble a cider barrel head. The upper section features the blue serif lettering Bulmer’s Cider on Draught with black outlines. Two die-cut figures occupy recessed doorways: a woman in a yellow floral dress and apron representing Fine weather, and a man in a red jacket and blue breeches holding a glass and umbrella representing Wet weather. A graphic of a brass cider barrel tap is positioned at the base. The reverse is fitted with an easel back and a central card housing for the gut string hygrometer mechanism. An instruction panel to the rear is headed Bulmer’s Weather House and provides operating guidelines for adjusting the figures via a wooden peg. The showcard measures approximately 11.5 inches in diameter.
