A Nestlé’s Milk Advertising Showcard featuring an illustration by John Hassall. The image depicts a wide-eyed boy with hair standing on end sitting up in bed, alongside a candle on a red-clothed bedside table and red slippers. The lower section includes the promotional text ‘WHO SAID NESTLÉ’S MILK?’ in stylised cream lettering with black outlines. The signature ‘Hassall’ is printed in script to the lower left of the illustration. Housed in a glazed, dark-stained moulded oak frame with a gilded wood inner slip. The reverse is sealed with brown backing paper and fitted with three metal mounting brackets.

Condition report:
There is visible foxing and brown age spotting throughout the print, notably in the blue background and white bedsheets (photo 1). The colours show general fading consistent with age. The oak frame has minor surface scuffs and wear to the edges, and the gilt slip has small areas of darkening and minor loss to the finish (photo 6). The brown backing paper shows age-related darkening and a small surface tear (photo 7).
