A glazed earthenware point-of-sale advertising display figure for Squires Gin. The figure depicts a country gentleman dressed in a green frock coat, yellow waistcoat, brown breeches, and a black top hat, holding a double-barrelled shotgun. A white and black spotted setter dog sits beside him. The figures are mounted on a rectangular plinth-style base with a green and white label to the front reading SQUIRES GIN flanked by gold botanical sprigs. The interior of the base bears a circular gold foil adhesive label with a black centre featuring a large stylized letter T composed of individual squares. The text on the label reads CHARLES E. TRESISE LTD. 44a DOVER STREET W.1.


Condition report:

The figure is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the shotgun barrel or hat (photos 1 and 2). There is visible fine crazing to the glaze on the white areas of the dog and the base (photos 1 and 2). The bottom rim of the base shows shelf wear and green paint residue from the manufacturing process (photo 4).
