A collection of three antique lithographed advertising tins. The first is a triangular Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin, the lid decorated with a central scene titled THE VILLAGE BLACKSMITH depicting a blacksmith and horse within a border of oak leaves. The sides feature various Victorian scenes including children at a smithy, a church interior, and rural landscapes. The base is stamped HUNTLEY and PALMERS BISCUIT MANUFACTURERS. READING and LONDON. The second item is a square Keens Mustard tin with rounded corners and embossed details, featuring lithography of garden birds and fruit including cherries, strawberries, and pears. The interior of the lid retains a printed yellow and red label reading KEENS MUSTARD GENUINE FINE MADE ONLY FROM MUSTARD SEED FIRST MANUFACTURED A.D. 1742. The third is a pocket-sized Matabele Mixture tobacco tin for John Wood and Son (Cigar and Tobacco Importers) Limited, 23 and 25 Queen Victoria Street, London, E.C. The lid depicts colonial-era scenes of Matabele children near a traditional hut.
