An arched top enamel advertising sign featuring a two-section design. The upper section is finished on a white ground with red lettering reading BEST LAMP OIL AT LOWEST PRICE, framed by a dark green curved border. The lower section features a dark blue ground with white and yellow detailing, centred by a waisted cartouche reading HUDSONS in bold white lettering, flanked above by a yellow and red oval panel inscribed 1/4 lb Packets and below by a matching panel inscribed SOAP, with stylised white foliate corner motifs and a green outer border. No maker mark is present.
7 1/4 inches wide.


Condition report:

Significant enamel loss with associated heavy rust and corrosion along the entire outer edge and arched top (photos 1, 2, and 4). Enamel chipping and corrosion around the mounting holes (photos 1, 2, and 3). General surface scratching, abrasions, and discolouration across the face, particularly visible over the lower blue ground (photos 1, 3, and 5).
