A Carburol Aromatic oil dispenser with a rectangular yellow lithographed tin mounted within a U-shaped chrome-plated tubular frame. The tin features red and black lettering reading Carburol Aromatic Upper Cylinder Lubricant and includes the slogan Boosts Fuel Performance, with the manufacturer United Lubricants Ltd., London S.W.6 noted along the lower edge. The unit is fitted to a triangular cast metal base impressed with the marks PATENT PENDING, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the number 1888 within a rectangular border. The reverse of the base is impressed PROPERTY OF UNITED LUBRICANTS LTD. The dispenser is equipped with a chrome-plated plunger pump and a translucent reddish-brown hose.


Condition report:

The lithographed tin shows wear including scratches, small dents, and localized areas of surface oxidation and paint loss (photos 1, 2, and 4). The chrome plating to the frame and pump displays light surface pitting and general use wear (photo 1).
