An Anglo-American Oil Co Ltd 2-gallon rectangular petrol can finished in light grey paint. The main front and back panels feature embossed block lettering reading ANGLO’S TAXIBUS SPIRIT. The top surface is embossed with warning text reading PETROLEUM HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE. The can is fitted with a brass screw cap, the top of which is embossed with TAXIBUS horizontally across the centre, ANGLO-AMERICAN around the upper perimeter, and OIL CO LTD around the lower perimeter.

Condition report:

The can has been overpainted in a matte light grey finish. There are several dents to the embossed panels and side panels. The paint shows chipping and flaking around the base edges, revealing oxidation to the metal underneath. The brass cap is intact and the lettering remains clear.
