A two-gallon rectangular metal petrol can finished in green paint. The side panel is embossed with the initials S O AND S M LTD . The top surface is embossed with the wording PETROLEUM SPIRIT HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE, together with an 8/ deposit mark. The can is fitted with a knurled brass screw-down cap.


Condition report:

The can is finished in a later green paint. There are multiple significant dents to the corners and the embossed side panel (photos 1 and 2). The brass cap shows heavy surface oxidation and dirt (photo 3). The handle remains firmly attached.
