A double-sided flanged enamel advertising sign for Castrol Wakefield Motor Oil. The sign features a bright red ground with a central large yellow circle. Overlaid across the centre is a horizontal white banner with a black border containing the brand name CASTROL in large black serif block capitals. Arched within the upper section of the yellow circle is the word WAKEFIELD in black capitals, with MOTOR OIL similarly arched in the lower section.

Condition report:

There is significant enamel loss and heavy corrosion along the mounting flange, particularly surrounding the three fixing holes as visible in photos 1, 2, and 4. Enamel chipping and loss are evident along the outer edges and corners, notably at the bottom right corner shown in photos 5 and 8, and the top left corner in photo 6. Fine surface crazing and cracking to the glaze are present across the yellow and white sections, with some general surface scratching, minor staining, and dulling to the gloss finish across both sides.
