Lot 394: Texaco Oil Pourer
0 views
A handled oil pourer featuring a green ground with lithographed Texaco branding. The body is of tapered, conical form with a vertical seam and a large D-shaped handle. The front and reverse features a circular white decal displaying a red five-pointed star with a central green T, accompanied by the text TEXACO above and REGD. T.M. below. The upper section incorporates a high-mounted, angled pouring spout. An applied lead Weights and Measures seal is present on the rim near the handle; however, the impressed characters are heavily worn and are not legible as a name or date.
Condition report:
The item is in used, unrestored condition. The green paint shows significant and widespread wear, including numerous chips, scratches, and areas of paint loss across the body and spout (photo 1, 3, and 4). Both decals are heavily weathered with flaking and loss to the white background and red star graphic (photo 1 and 3). Surface oxidation and light rust are visible on exposed metal areas, particularly around the base rim, handle edges, and the interior of the spout (photo 1, 2, and 4). The interior displays some residue and light surface rust (photo 2).
