Lot 391: Two Large Measuring Jugs

Two tapered handled oil measuring jugs. The first example is a 5-litre handled measuring jug finished in green paint, stamped 5 LITRE to the body, bearing an oval adhesive decal reading LAWTON AERMACCHI within a white starburst design and a rectangular decal reading ROCK OIL with emblem, featuring a stamped crown mark with numbers 600 and 87 inside the spout. The second example is a 1-gallon handled measuring jug stamped GALLON to the body, retaining remnants of green paint over bare metal, fitted with a circular lead weights and measures verification plug stamped with crown GR, 264, and 48 at the rim, with an angled spout and flat strap handle.
Condition report:
The green 5-litre jug shows minor surface scratches, edge wear, small paint chips, and light oxidation spots to the body and rim (photos 3 and 4). The 1-gallon jug displays heavy all-over surface oxidation, rust pitting, paint loss, and visible denting to the upper spout rim, body, and strap handle (photos 2, 5, and 6).
