An nearly one pint tapered handled oil pourer featuring a green lithographed ground with orange and white branding. The body is decorated with the Wakefield Castrol script logo and block lettering for Wakefield and 1 Pint Motor Oil. The tinplate construction includes a fixed, angled pouring spout and a soldered strap handle. The shoulder is embossed Pint and displays an applied circular lead Weights and Measures verification stamp. The stamp shows a crown flanked by the letters G R, with numerals 50 C and 38 below, denoting a 1938 verification during the reign of King George VI.
Condition report:
Significant wear and paint loss to the lithographed branding (photo 1). The unpainted metal components, including the handle, spout, and interior, show extensive surface oxidation and rust pitting (photo 3). There are several small dents to the body and base rim, and the tip of the spout is slightly misshapen (photo 2).
