A rare one pint handled tapered oil pourer finished in green. The front features a yellow and black checkered adhesive label with a central diamond reading USE NOTWEN OIL, with ERNEST NEWTON & CO. BIRMINGHAM printed at the bottom edge. The side of the body has an embossed oval containing the characters 1 PINT. Stamped marks on the shoulder near the spout include a crown above the letters G R with the figures 6 8 below, and a Broad Arrow mark. The vessel is fitted with a fixed spout and a looped metal handle.
Condition report:
Significant wear to the green painted surface with extensive paint loss, scratching, and surface rust visible to the handle, spout, and base rim (photos 1, 2, 5). The adhesive paper label is aged with foxing and staining, including significant paper loss to the lower section (photos 1, 2). Minor denting is present on the body and spout (photos 2, 5). Oxidation and oil residue are visible within the interior (photo 3).
