A one imperial pint conical motor oil tin for Wakefield Patent Castrol. The lithographed tin features a green ground with the Castrol logo in cursive orange script, accompanied by the wording Wakefield Patent and Motor Oil. The graphic design includes white and black diagonal accents and a circular motif. The reverse side is printed with a comprehensive list of British and international patent numbers for various countries including Argentine, Australia, Canada, India, and the U.S.A., along with manufacturers details for C. C. Wakefield and Company Limited of Wakefield House, Cheapside, London. The tin retains its original metal screw cap and shows a vertical soldered seam.


Condition report:

Significant surface wear is evident across the tin, several small dents are visible on the tapered body (photo 2). The printed graphics are partially faded but remain largely legible (photo 3). The screw cap exhibits heavy patina and surface corrosion (photo 4).
