The front and rear panels display the Gamage Motor Oil brand name in white block lettering within a red shield-shaped border. A white rectangular panel to the lower front bears the slogan A GUARANTEED HIGH QUALITY OIL AT A LOWER PRICE in red. The reverse panel features a circular seal reading THE NAME Gamages GUARANTEES THE VALUE above a white box printed with the grade STANDARD XL. Side panels show the Gamages script logo in red above the wording MOTOR OIL FOR ALL CARS. A red band to the lower edge includes the retailer address GAMAGES, HOLBORN, E.C.1 and the capacity 1 IMPERIAL GALLON. The tin is fitted with a central metal carrying handle and a metal screw cap.
