Lot 352: Shell Stickman Motor Grease Tin

A cylindrical lithographed tin for Shell motor grease, featuring a yellow ground with red and black lettering. The front face displays the red Shell Man articulated figure with one arm raised, alongside a circular pre-decimal price mark of 1/- and a rectangular box containing the letters W.P. designating the contents as water pump grease. The reverse features a comprehensive list of Shell lubricants including engine oils, gear box and axle lubricants, and various motor greases, followed by descriptive usage instructions for each grease type. The lid is printed with a central Shell Man figure superimposed on a red pecten logo, surrounded by the slogans Be Up-To-Date and Shellubricate.
