A circular lithographed tin advertising tray for Marston, Thompson & Evershed Ltd of Burton on Trent. The central field features a bright yellow ground decorated with a stepped green banner reading most men like, which flows into a dark teal cartouche containing the name MARSTON’S in green serif lettering. Below this, a green scroll reads BURTON ALES. The inner rim is finished in dark teal with yellow uppercase lettering reading MARSTON, THOMPSON & EVERSHED LTD. to the upper section and BURTON ON TRENT to the lower section. The tray is finished with a rolled gilt border and a black enamel reverse. A small printed mark B109 is visible on the lower inner rim.

Condition report:

The tray face is in good condition with light surface scratching and minor scattered pitting to the yellow lithography (photo 1). The raised gilt rim shows noticeable paint wear, scuffing, and minor oxidation, particularly at the 1 o\'clock and 8 o\'clock positions (photo 1). The reverse shows heavy surface wear, extensive scuffing, and fine mottling across the black finish with areas of surface corrosion (photo 2).
