A Fremlins Ale barrel stand of hardwood construction with two shaped side panels joined by turned wooden cross-struts. The front panel features a transfer-printed graphic of an elephant standing upon a heraldic torse, the elephant draped in a red blanket with the wording FREMLINS ALE. The interior of the rear panel is stamped in black ink with the brewery name FREMLINS followed by a 20/- DEPOSIT mark, indicating a pre-decimalisation deposit value of twenty shillings. The side panels are secured with dowel joints, the ends of which are visible on the exterior faces.
37 cm wide.

Condition report:

The elephant transfer on the front panel displays significant cracking and crazing throughout, with visible loss of detail and pigment to the red blanket and around the perimeter of the graphic (photo 3). The wooden surfaces show general wear consistent with pub use, including scuffs, scratches, and white paint-like marks to the lower left of the front panel (photo 1). Adhesive residue is visible at the junction of the cross-struts and side panels (photo 2).
