Ansells Brewery advertising sign, the stepped rectangular frame housing a high-relief plaque. The central graphic features a white squirrel, the trademark of the Birmingham-based brewery, finished with gold-toned accents. Below, the lettering reads ANSELLS in high-relief serif characters, with the letters A, N, and S featuring silver-toned left-facing facets and gold-toned right-facing facets, and the remaining letters E, L, L, and S appearing in gold. The plaque has a black ground with a gold border and is mounted within a red-painted angle iron frame. The frame includes four mounting brackets with elongated bolt holes.

Condition report:
The sign is in as-found condition with significant paint loss and surface rust to the red steel frame and mounting brackets (photo 1). There is visible chipping and wear to the paint on the white squirrel relief, particularly on the chest and tail sections (photo 2). The black background of the plaque shows pitting, surface dirt, and accumulated dust (photo 7). The relief lettering exhibits some fading and minor paint loss, most notably on the silver-toned facets of the first three characters (photo 6).
