A Hennessy Cognac advertising bar display figurine depicting a standing St. Bernard rescue dog with a miniature barrel collar. The hollow-cast chalkware figure stands upon a simulated snow-effect rectangular base. The front and back of the base feature three raised stars above the name HENNESSY in black block lettering. The barrel collar is similarly marked with three raised stars and the name HENNESSY. An embossed mark on the end of the base reads HENNESSY COGNAC BRANDY 84 PROOF followed by a copyright symbol and 1953, with the importer name Schieffelin & Co., New York, N.Y. below. The end of the miniature barrel is also embossed with the word HENNESSY.

Condition report:

The figurine exhibits significant age-related wear throughout. There is widespread crazing and alligatoring to the painted surface across the body and base (photo 1). Small chips and paint loss are visible on the ears, muzzle, and the edges of the barrel (photo 3). Further flaking and paint loss are present along the corners and the bottom rim of the base (photo 4). General surface discolouration and ingrained dust are present, consistent with use in a commercial environment.
