Lot 267: Guinness Advertising Figurine Collection

A collection of ceramic advertising figurines featuring various characters from the John Gilroy advertising campaigns for Guinness. The group comprises a kangaroo with a brown glazed body featuring a Guinness bottle in its pouch; a zookeeper or keeper in a green uniform and white apron with a small animal in the pocket; a black sea lion balancing a glass of stout on its nose; a black and white toucan standing beside a glass of stout; and a man pulling a two-wheeled cart containing a seated horse. The bases are finished in a cream glaze and feature red printed serif lettering. Four figurines bear the slogan My Goodness - My GUINNESS, while the horse and cart figurine is lettered GUINNESS FOR STRENGTH. The pieces are finished in a high-gloss glaze.
