The glass shows localized silvering loss and foxing, particularly visible within the black lettering of the word Edinburgh (photo 8) and around the lower edges (photo 4). The dark finish of the frame exhibits fine cracking and alligatoring throughout (photo 13). There are small chips to the gesso ornamentation, notably at the bottom left corner (photo 12), and minor separation is visible at the mitered joints (photo 14). The reverse paper labels are heavily worn, torn, and partially missing (photo 16).
