An Ansells advertising Poster featuring a lithographic illustration of a gentleman in a white boater hat and black suit drinking a glass of light-coloured ale. The central figure is set against a navy blue ground with a light blue border at the base. The print displays the brand name in large white cursive script. It is housed in a dark-stained oak frame stamped ANSELLS on the top, bottom, and side rails, with B 2058 incised on the lower rail. A printer mark in the bottom margin reads DESIGNED & PRINTED BY CROPPER & CO LTD SOUTHWARK, LONDON. The overall dimensions are approximately 35.5 inches by 24.5 inches, with a visible print area of 31.5 inches by 20.5 inches.

Condition report:

The print exhibits age-related wear including minor surface scuffs, light foxing, and small white specks scattered across the dark background (photo 1). There is slight rippling to the paper under the glass (photo 2). The oak frame shows signs of age with a dark, worn patina, including various knocks, scuffs, and scratches throughout (photos 5, 7, 8, and 9). The brown paper backing on the reverse is intact but shows multiple small holes and edge wear (photo 10).
