Lot 197: Worthington Advertising Framed Print

A Worthington’s advertising print featuring a central illustration of a gentleman in a suit and tie seated in a patterned armchair, reading a book and holding a glass of ale. A side table holds a bottle of Worthington’s Pale Ale with a red heart logo and text reading WORTHINGTON’S, PALE ALE and BURTON-ON-TRENT, alongside a glass. The scene includes a fringed floor lamp to the left. The upper section features the brand name Worthington in blue serif lettering with a yellow outline, while the lower section bears the slogan “THE VERY BEST”. The printed signature INDER BURNS appears at the lower left of the armchair. The showcard is housed in a dark-stained wooden frame with a gilt inner slip. The reverse has a paper backing with handwritten blue ink markings reading 10 1/2 x 15.20, X and 222.
