A mahogany countertop retail display case featuring a slanted glass front with a black band to the upper section bearing gilded characters reading CHOCOLATE J.S. FRY & SONS LTD COCOA. The cabinet is constructed with a mahogany frame and a moulded base, housing a natural wood baseboard and two loose black-painted wooden display plinths. The interior is accessed by a full-length rear glazed door, hinged at the base and secured by two brass rotating catches.
Length: 36 inches
Depth: 12 inches
Height: 11 inches.

Condition report:

The mahogany woodwork displays minor surface nicks, scratches, and small indentations consistent with retail use (photos 8, 9, and 10). The gilded advertising on the glass remains largely crisp and legible, with only minor instances of rubbing or loss to the gold leaf (photos 2 and 3). The two internal black display plinths are loose and one shows a small area of surface loss to its paint (photo 6). The glass panels are intact but show surface grime and dust throughout. The rear brass hinges and catches are functional and exhibit a natural aged patina (photo 5).
