Lot 35: A Burnard & Alger's Concentrated Manures Enamel Advertising Sign

A vintage agricultural advertising sign promoting “BURNARD & ALGER’S Celebrated Concentrated ‘CORN’ & ‘GRASS’ MANURES” from Plymouth. The vertical sign is constructed of enamel on steel. The central illustration depicts a large, tied sheaf of golden grain set against a light blue sky and a detailed pastoral landscape background, which includes farm buildings and a distant church spire. The text is rendered in dark blue, orange-red, yellow, and white. The sign displays the manufacturer’s mark along the bottom edge: “CHROMO., WOLVERHAMPTON.”
