The design displays the iconic red triangle trade mark with central text reading TRADE MARK. The oval is bordered by bold black lettering stating BASS & CO’S PALE ALE above the triangle and a black script signature Bass & Co below. The outer oval border contains the printed text THIS LABEL IS ISSUED ONLY BY BASS, RATCLIFF & GRETTON, LIMITED and BREWERS - BURTON - ON - TRENT. The sign is finished with a black and grey decorative guilloche-style border within the oval. The reverse is heavily weathered with remnants of white and red adhesive or mounting material.
