Lot 603: Lyons Swiss Rolls Advertising Sign
0 views
A double-sided advertising sign for Lyons Swiss Rolls in its original frame. The rectangular sign features a red ground with bold white lettering and a central white oval containing the slogan Now in TWO sizes in red script. The base of the sign is detailed with the words Sold Here in a white cursive font. The sign is mounted within its original red-painted tubular metal A-frame stand, secured by four rusted bolts. The frame features arched tops and splayed feet for stability.
32 inches high by 17.5 inches wide.
Condition report:
The panels show losses and nibbling to the edges, particularly around the mounting bolts and the top edge (photo 3). There are scattered surface scratches, minor pitting, and several small areas of impact-related paint loss to both faces (photos 1 and 2). The red paint on the tubular frame is heavily weathered with surface rust and oxidation throughout, most notably on the feet and joints (photo 5).
