A rectangular yellow enamel advertising sign for Colman’s Mustard. The sign features a yellow ground with the brand name ‘COLMAN’S’ in bold dark blue block lettering across the upper section. Centrally, the initials ‘D.S.F.’ are printed, with the product name ‘MUSTARD’ in a similar bold dark blue font at the base. The sign has a dark blue border framing the composition. A maker’s mark is visible in the bottom left-hand corner border, applied in blue print, which reads ‘1/25 PROPERTY OF J. & J. COLMANS.’. The reverse of the sign is an unfinished grey metal with significant yellow enamel overspray and runs from the production process. The sign measures approximately 24 inches in width by 36 inches in height.

Condition report:
The sign shows significant enamel loss and heavy corrosion along the right-hand vertical edge, which has compromised the metal and encroaches upon the letter \'S\' in \'COLMAN\'S\' (photo 2, 7). There are multiple areas of enamel chipping and associated rusting along the top, bottom, and left edges (photo 1, 6). The corners exhibit notable losses, and corrosion is evident around the mounting holes (photo 6). The yellow enamel field displays surface scratching, scuffing, and several small localized impact chips and dimples (photo 3). The reverse shows extensive surface rust spotting across the entire plate (photo 10).
