Rectangular shipping crate for Castrolease automotive lubricants. The front panel bears stencilled black lettering reading WAKEFIELD above CASTROLEASE and MEDIUM. One side panel is stencilled with the manufacturer name C.C. WAKEFIELD & CO LTD followed by the address LONDON E.C.2. The opposing side panel features a decorative scroll logo containing the text CIRCULATING. Constructed from softwood with rusted iron nail fasteners.

Condition report:

Heavily weathered condition with significant wear and splintering to the top edges of the panels (photos 1 and 3). The wood exhibits deep open graining, cracking, and general surface degradation consistent with age and exposure (photo 1). The iron nails are heavily oxidised and rusted (photos 2 and 4). Stencilled text is faded but remains legible (photo 1). The interior shows signs of staining and surface dirt (photo 5). The structure remains intact despite losses to the rim.
