A rare and early Shell double-sided petrol pump globe of scallop shell form. The white glass body features black block lettering to each face. The interior of the mounting neck is stamped in black ‘PROPERTY of SHELL-MEX&B.P.LTD. RETURNABLE ON DEMAND’. The exterior neck bears a black printed maker’s mark for ‘WEBBS’ and the registered design number ‘REGD Nº 744823’. Manufactured in 1930’s

good original condition, fading to the paint on one side, and one noticeable chip to the neck
