Start price: £20

Estimated price: £50 - £100

Buyer's Premium: 16%

A Power Petrol two-gallon petrol can, finished in a light grey overpaint. The two main faces are centrally embossed with a diamond-shaped border containing the brand name ‘POWER PETROL’. The top surface features further embossed text reading ‘THE POWER PETROLEUM CO LTD’, ‘PETROLEUM SPIRIT’, and ‘HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE’. The can is of seamed steel construction with a fixed strap carry handle and is complete with its original cast brass screw cap, also embossed ‘POWER PETROL’, featuring dual lugs and a central vent.

Condition report:

The can has been repainted in a non-original light grey matte finish. There are a number of dents to the tin. The embossed branding remains clear and well-defined. The brass cap is present and shows a natural aged patina with surface wear consistent with age (photos 5 and 6).
