Lot 380: Mobiloil Measuring Jug

One pint tapered handled measuring jug with cream ground. The body features the red Pegasus logo above blue serif lettering for Mobiloil, with the words REGD TRADE MARKS printed below. The base is decorated with three blue horizontal stripes and a single thick red stripe. The reverse is embossed PINT below the spout join. An applied lead verification seal is located inside the spout, stamped with a crown symbol above the letters G R, the number 587, and the year 39. Fitted with a fixed metal strap handle and a wide slanted pouring spout.


Condition report:

Areas of paint loss, chipping, and scratches across the body and spout (photos 1 and 2). Visible surface rust and oxidation to the handle, base rim, interior, and areas of failed paint (photos 3 and 6). The spout rim shows minor misshaping and small dents from use (photo 4).
